Education Minister Suspends FUTA VC, Bursar Over Corruption Charges

The report reaching the MY9JAEDU News desk shows that there was spontaneous joyous reaction at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) as the VC Prof. Adebiyi Daramola was suspended by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu reportedly suspended the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University and also suspended the school’s Bursar, Dr. Emmanuel Oresegun.
Both university officials have been accused of fraud to the tune of N24 million, and are currently being tried by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Adebiyi Daramola is facing a nine-count charge of offences including misappropriation of public funds, misuse of office and obtaining money under false pretense among others.
Dr. Emmanuel Oresegun, on the other hand, is facing a two-count charge of mishandling unpaid funds and fixing funds without due process.
